PRIESTLY SOCIETY OF ST. IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA
Again we have the pleasure to present to all of you who read our sections on the official website of the Priestly Society of Ignatian (I. O. C. C.), a new and current material, where it is reported and about what is the Old Catholic faith, and also about the spiritual legacy of Ignatius of Loyola. Many wonder, “How is it possible that there is Ignatian spirituality in the old Catholic movement? And the answer is very simple... keep in mind that Ignatius of Loyola, is not the property of a religious Institution, such as the Roman Catholic Church, and the Society of Jesus. Ignatius of Loyola is a heritage of humanity and of Christianity in general. The legacy of spiritual discernment raised by him, is a way of finding our way into the consciousness of a God who is always in our daily actions, and in our everyday reality without much ceremony. That is what Ignatius, and the Old Catholic movement have in common: Jesus as your only and sufficient savior, as that we do all that we do for the greater glory of God. That is why that Ignatian spirituality is not foreign to our Old Catholic movement, because it has always been a search for an integral growth of the self in terms of our personal relationship with God and as God manifests his will in every individual. Likewise, it is our joy as the Society of Ignatius to have been involved in two great events: the first election of the new Presiding Bishop (I.O.C.C.) and the opening of the jubilee year of the Ignatian way. Since this last event reminds us of the journey of the Man called Ignatius of Loyola, where leaving Loyola with direction to Manresa, begins his process of awakening to a consciousness of God “in all Love and to serve.” We hope all of our readers will find this new material is to your liking, and that it will greatly benefit your intellect, opinions and above all faith.
